Location: Remote, U.S.-based

Company

hirify.global is an embedded service provider that partners with engineering teams on complex infrastructure, cloud, and software delivery challenges.

What you will do

  • Lead a two-month discovery of a large-scale, multi-cluster production Amazon EKS estate, including inventory, topology, ownership, workload placement, support status, and cost.
  • Design a multi-cluster target architecture that reduces blast radius and clarifies workload placement, isolation boundaries, and tenancy models.
  • Automate the Kubernetes upgrade lifecycle, including version upgrades, API deprecations, add-on compatibility, node rotation, and rollback planning.
  • Lead compute and capacity strategy across EC2 instance families, node sizes, workload fit, bin-packing, network limits, and rapid scale-up headroom.
  • Drive a phased ARM64 and Graviton migration across Java, Go, PHP, and Python workloads, including multi-architecture builds and performance validation.
  • Lead the embedded TechPod, work with customer infrastructure leadership and AWS specialists, and present technical, cost, risk, and capacity recommendations to executives.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in DevOps, SRE, platform, or infrastructure engineering, including 4+ years operating production Kubernetes and prior technical leadership experience.
  • Deep experience operating Amazon EKS at large scale, including multiple production clusters, thousands of nodes, or tens of thousands of pods.
  • Hands-on ownership of production EKS upgrades, API deprecations, add-on compatibility, node rotation, rollback planning, and EKS support lifecycles.
  • Advanced production experience with Karpenter, including NodePools, disruption, consolidation, weighting, and instance-type flexibility.
  • Strong knowledge of EC2 compute, ARM64 and Graviton migration, Kubernetes networking, AWS VPC CNI, ingress, Gateway API, service mesh, observability, and infrastructure as code.
  • Advanced Terraform proficiency plus experience with Helm, GitOps tooling, and Python, Go, or Bash automation.

Nice to have

  • Experience with high-traffic B2C, real-time, or safety-critical platforms.
  • Multi-cluster or cell-based architecture, large-scale Spot capacity, JVM tuning, Bottlerocket, or container-optimized operating systems.
  • AI-assisted infrastructure operations, LLM-driven tooling, consulting discovery engagements, or advanced AWS and Kubernetes certifications.

Culture & Benefits

  • 100% remote workplace within the U.S.-based operating center.
  • Unlimited paid time off.
  • Equity ownership.
  • 401K with company contribution and sponsored healthcare.
  • Training and certification programs for professional growth.
