Director, Strategy Manufacturing

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States; requires travel 60% of the time across Excelitas manufacturing sites.

What you will do

• Lead manufacturing transformation programs and projects across a multi-site portfolio.
• Partner with plant, operations, engineering, supply chain, and finance leaders on lean improvement, automation, facility consolidation, ERP rollouts, and capacity expansion.
• Manage scope, budgets, timelines, risks, interdependencies, and program-level governance.
• Track KPIs including cost savings, throughput, quality, delivery, and safety, and report results to leadership.
• Drive change management and adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working.
• Coach project and program managers and improve project management maturity across the function.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, business, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, project or program management, or operational excellence.
• Required experience with site consolidations and a track record in multi-site manufacturing transformation, operational excellence, or PMO initiatives.
• Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or comparable continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience managing program budgets, building business cases, influencing stakeholders, and leading cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; the role involves information subject to ITAR.

Nice to have

• MBA or another advanced degree.
• Experience with greenfield or brownfield start-ups.
• PMP or equivalent certification.
• Experience in regulated or precision manufacturing, such as optics, photonics, aerospace and defense, or medical devices.
