Senior Customs Expert Auditor (International Trade/Customs Compliance): Managing and improving import, export, transit, and virtual customs operations in Mexico with an accent on regulatory compliance, tariff classification, customs programs, and cross-border stakeholder support. Focus on auditing customs processes, translating regulatory changes into operational rules, optimizing duty spend, and mitigating compliance and business continuity risks.
Location: Polanco, Mexico City, Mexico; permanent onsite position

What you will do
- Manage import, export, transit, virtual, and other customs activities in Mexico.
- Ensure compliance with customs laws, country regulations, AEO, IMMEX, PROSEC, VAT-IMMEX, Annex 24 and 30, and related government programs.
- Act as a point of contact for customs authorities, brokers, third parties, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate tariff classification and monitor customs transactions, licenses, registries, and non-tariff restrictions.
- Identify opportunities to optimize customs operations, reduce duty spending, and mitigate operational and economic risks.
- Monitor KPIs, lead continuous improvement, and provide training and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Economics, Administration, International Business, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in customs, foreign trade, import, and export.
- Experience managing IMMEX/CIVA, Annex 24, PROSEC, and OEA benefits.
- Experience as an auditor in a Big Four company or government authority such as SAT.
- Experience with tariff classification, stakeholder management, collaboration, and conflict management.
- Fluent English is required. Advanced Excel skills are expected; customs software or SAP experience is an advantage.
