What you will do
- Execute recurring logistics performance and trade compliance routines, track actions and deadlines, and escalate aging items.
- Build and maintain reports, trackers, dashboards, KPI packs, and controls evidence using spreadsheets and system outputs.
- Review import and export documentation and coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, suppliers, government agencies, and internal stakeholders.
- Support customs entry audits covering tariff classification, country of origin, valuation, duty calculations, trade programs, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain SOPs, job aids, checklists, training materials, and audit-ready records with version control and traceability.
- Identify compliance risks and opportunities for process improvement, standardization, and automation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in trade compliance, customs brokerage, international logistics, import/export operations, internal controls, or a related function.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and international trade compliance requirements, including HTS classification, country of origin, valuation, recordkeeping, free trade agreements, and special trade programs.
- Experience coordinating audits, internal controls testing, evidence management, access reviews, or segregation-of-duties activities.
- Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, transportation providers, suppliers, government agencies, and cross-functional partners.
- Strong attention to detail, spreadsheet proficiency, basic data analysis skills, and knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes.
Nice to have
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Certified Export Specialist (CES), or similar certification.
- Experience with C-TPAT, duty drawback, or other specialized trade programs.
