Executive Director Strategy (Healthcare Strategy)

Location: Remote within the United States, excluding California, Illinois, North Dakota, New York, Ohio, Washington, and Wyoming. Hybrid work is strongly preferred for candidates within 60 miles of Albuquerque, with in-office presence required Tuesday through Thursday.

What you will do

• Lead multi-year strategic planning across multiple healthcare service lines, including market assessment, competitive positioning, demand forecasting, access, capacity, provider resources, and financial performance.
• Evaluate organic growth, market expansion, partnerships, affiliations, joint ventures, acquisitions, and major enterprise investments.
• Lead cross-functional strategic diligence across strategy, clinical operations, finance, legal and regulatory affairs, technology, and workforce planning.
• Develop executive-ready recommendations covering strategic options, value creation, risks, dependencies, assumptions, and implementation requirements.
• Establish governance for approved strategies through roadmaps, milestones, accountable owners, KPIs, benefits tracking, and escalation processes.
• Advise executive and physician leaders, represent the strategy function, and lead, coach, and develop Strategy Managers and Analysts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
• Typically 10+ years of progressive experience in healthcare strategy, strategic planning, business development, finance, corporate development, healthcare operations, or management consulting.
• Demonstrated leadership of complex, enterprise-wide and multi-service-line strategic initiatives.
• Experience partnering with executive leaders, physician leadership, and senior multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Experience leading teams directly or influencing large matrixed teams across an organization.
• Remote applicants must be based in the United States and cannot be located in California, Illinois, North Dakota, New York, Ohio, Washington, or Wyoming.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) or another relevant professional credential.
