Global Messaging Architect (Microsoft 365/Exchange)

Location: Remote - New York; Stamford or remote

Salary: $135,000–$180,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and govern the global messaging architecture across Exchange Online, Microsoft 365, and integrated security and compliance platforms.
• Define governance standards and best practices for secure, reliable, and scalable email and calendaring services.
• Lead messaging architecture for M&A, divestiture, rebranding, domain consolidation, and tenant-to-tenant migration programs.
• Architect global mail routing, hybrid coexistence, authentication standards, filtering, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Partner with security, legal, compliance, infrastructure, and application teams on phishing defense, threat detection, retention, eDiscovery, and regulatory reporting.
• Advise executives on messaging risk, cost optimization, and strategic investments while mentoring engineers and administrators.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 8+ years of experience in identity and access management and enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience leading identity architecture and delivery for large-scale hybrid environments.
• Expert hands-on proficiency with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Google Workspace, Okta Identity Cloud, Active Directory, and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Strong written and verbal communication, technical documentation, analytical thinking, execution, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Work arrangement: remote in New York or based in Stamford.

Nice to have

• Leadership experience in messaging separation or integration during complex M&A events.
• Experience implementing SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MTA-STS, DANE, and advanced email threat protection.
• Experience with Mimecast, Proofpoint, Microsoft Defender for Office 365, and global messaging monitoring frameworks.
• Microsoft, Mimecast, CISSP, GIAC, Zero Trust, PIM/PAM, or IAM governance certifications.
