Senior Analytics Engineer

Location: Hybrid, with two days per week in the San Francisco office every Tuesday and Wednesday; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Base pay: $110,000–$1,450,000 per year, excluding bonus, benefits, and other compensation.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable dbt models that transform raw data into tested and documented datasets.
• Own data model layers from source systems through marts, ensuring consistent business logic and metric definitions.
• Partner with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate reporting needs into reliable data pipelines.
• Establish testing, documentation, code review, data quality, and freshness standards.
• Improve query performance and warehouse efficiency as data volume grows.
• Mentor junior analytics engineers and help define a single source of truth for core metrics such as GMV, completed tasks, and take rate.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related role.
• Deep hands-on experience with dbt and SQL, plus strong knowledge of dimensional modeling and data warehouse design.
• Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift, as well as orchestration tools such as Airflow or dbt Cloud.
• Working knowledge of Python for data pipeline development and automation, and experience with Git.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured data models and explain technical tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical projects.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Looker, Mode, Tableau, or other BI and semantic-layer tools.
• Experience with marketplace or on-demand business models.
