Sr. Data Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid role based in the New York City office, with in-office work four days per week. Must have the legal right to work in the United States.

Salary: $145,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable AWS data architecture, pipelines, and modeling strategies.
• Build data models and schemas in Redshift and support self-service analytics.
• Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot data jobs and infrastructure for high availability and performance.
• Implement data quality checks, validation rules, alerting, lineage, cataloging, and documentation.
• Partner with Data Science, Analytics, and Business teams to deliver reliable datasets and models.
• Contribute to Agile planning, code reviews, mentoring, automation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software or data engineering experience building robust data systems.
• Expertise in enterprise data warehouses, star schemas, and dimensional modeling.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries and performance optimization; Python proficiency is a strong plus.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including Redshift, S3, Glue, Athena, EMR, EC2, DynamoDB, Lambda, and Redis.
• Familiarity with dbt, modern ELT and analytics engineering, structured and unstructured data, governance, quality assurance, and observability.
• Ability to create technical documentation, communicate cross-functionally, and own solutions from design through deployment.
