Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Fully remote within the United States

Salary: $120,000–$155,000 annually

What you will do

• Harden cloud environments alongside DevSecOps engineers using serverless and Zero Trust patterns.
• Deploy and automate CI/CD pipelines and establish infrastructure as code with CloudFormation.
• Own the POAM process, including remediation planning, progress tracking, and closure of findings.
• Assess security findings, identify duplicates and dependencies, and develop remediation level-of-effort estimates.
• Conduct Security Impact Analyses to achieve and maintain ATO.
• Maintain security dashboards and collaborate with engineers and external stakeholders to drive remediation.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience remediating POAMs and navigating the federal ATO process.
• Proficiency with AWS environments and cloud security practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, CloudFormation, and infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust, FISMA, and NIST 800-53.
• Bachelor’s degree and strong organizational and communication skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; certain roles may require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation or security clearance.

• Experience with Docker and containerized environments.
