Junior Automation Engineer (Siemens)

What you will do

• Support the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the Facilities Monitoring and Control System (FMCS).
• Work with Siemens WinCC OA SCADA and Siemens S7-1500 PLCs.
• Perform loop checks by tracing signals from field devices through I/O and PLCs to operator screens.
• Investigate alarms and faults during commissioning and live operation.
• Support instrument calibration checks, field-signal troubleshooting, and the creation of datapoints, screens, trends, and reports.
• Work with facility and IT teams while gradually taking on independent system responsibility.

Requirements

• Completed apprenticeship as an Electronics Technician for Automation Technology plus further training as a state-certified technician, or a comparable qualification.
• Alternatively, a degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of professional experience with initial hands-on exposure.
• Basic knowledge of PLC programming and/or SCADA, ideally with Siemens S7, TIA Portal, and WinCC OA.
• Curiosity about automation systems and willingness to learn loop checks, diagnostics, and commissioning.
• Good command of English is required; German is an advantage.
