Legal Counsel (AI/Defense)

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate customer, partnership, supply, procurement, and defense-procurement agreements.
• Support negotiations with defense ministries, armed forces, public-sector bodies, and industrial partners.
• Advise on autonomous and AI-enabled defense systems, export controls, sanctions, trade compliance, data, cybersecurity, and intellectual property.
• Support entity governance, board documentation, statutory filings, employment matters, disputes, and pre-litigation risk assessment.
• Act as the principal legal advisor for expansion across Arabic-speaking markets and coordinate external local counsel.
• Build scalable contracting standards, legal templates, playbooks, approval processes, and legal-spend controls.

Requirements

• Qualified attorney or in-house legal counsel with approximately five years of relevant experience across a law firm and in-house, technology, or defense environments.
• Native-level Arabic and fluent professional English required.
• Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Solid grounding in contract and corporate law.
• Genuine interest in defense, dual-use technology, AI, or other regulated sectors.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain any security clearance or authorization required for the role, subject to applicable law.

Nice to have

• LL.M. from a US or UK institution.
• Experience with defense or public procurement and export-control matters.
