QNX Field Application Engineer (Industrial Automation/Robotics/Medical Devices)

Location: Munich, Germany. The role includes 25–30% travel to customer sites and participation in regional events, trade shows, and webinars.

Salary: €88,320–€115,920 gross annual base salary, plus sales incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Act as the technical liaison between customers and QNX R&D, Engineering Services, Product Management, and Sales.
• Provide pre-sales and post-sales expertise on QNX solutions, including design analysis, feasibility assessments, and scope definition.
• Manage customer technical requirements from development through commercial release and support appropriate upgrades.
• Deliver demos, benchmarking, high-level design assistance, environment setup, and occasional customer-specific development.
• Prepare and present technical materials on-site and virtually, representing QNX at events, trade shows, speaking engagements, and webinars.
• Maintain competitive technical intelligence and recommend improvements to Sales and Marketing.

Requirements

• Experience interfacing between customers and engineering in both commercial and technical capacities, preferably in software sales and embedded industries.
• Software development, design, and architecture experience in embedded systems, real-time programming, or similar low-level programming using C, Assembly, or C++.
• Experience with Linux development environments; QNX experience is an advantage.
• Experience in industrial automation, robotics, or medical-device markets, with broad knowledge of the embedded technology industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent meaningful experience.
• Strong communication, customer relationship, problem-solving, business analysis, and decision-making skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts as business value.

Nice to have

• Experience with RTOS solutions from Wind River, Green Hills, or similar providers.
• Familiarity with functional safety standards such as IEC 61508, ISO 13849, or IEC 62304.
