What you will do
- Develop and deploy guidance, navigation, or control algorithms for autonomous interceptor systems.
- Integrate algorithms with perception, flight-control, and simulation systems using ROS 2 and MAVLink.
- Validate performance through simulation, SITL/HITL, and structured flight testing.
- Analyze real flight logs to reproduce failures, isolate root causes, and improve system reliability.
- Collaborate with the broader GNC engineering team to deliver stable and responsive aircraft behavior.
Requirements
- Degree in robotics, aerospace, electrical/mechanical engineering, or applied mathematics.
- Strong fundamentals in vehicle kinematics, dynamics, state estimation, and optimization.
- Proficiency in C++ or Rust and experience with ROS 2.
- Experience with flight-control ecosystems such as PX4 or ArduPilot.
- Deep expertise in at least one GNC area: guidance, navigation, or control.
- Must be able to work on-site in Gilching, Germany.
