TL;DR
Automation Engineer (Network Automation): Designing and operating large-scale test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines for network devices and container-based topologies with an accent on Python, pytest, network operating systems, and traffic-generator integration. Focus on automating L2/L3, BGP/EVPN, QoS, and platform testing, validating performance and convergence, and building reliable configuration and reporting workflows.

What you will do
- Design, build, and own large-scale test automation frameworks for network devices across physical and container-based topologies.
- Architect CI/CD pipelines that deploy container topologies, execute test plans, and publish reports and logs.
- Develop configuration workflows and schemas for generating, validating, and applying complex multi-device configurations.
- Automate end-to-end testing of L2/L3 networking, BGP/EVPN, QoS, ACLs, platform health, forwarding behavior, convergence, and performance.
- Integrate traffic generators such as IXIA, Spirent, and Snappi/OTG into regression and release test suites.
- Establish automation standards, track quality and coverage metrics, and mentor engineers in Python, network test automation, and DevOps.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 15 years of experience in test automation, SDET, DevOps, or network engineering roles.
- Expert Python skills and deep experience building pytest-based frameworks, including fixtures, plugins, parametrization, markers, and shared utilities.
- Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EVPN, VxLAN, MPLS, Clos/leaf-spine architectures, ECMP, and overlay/underlay networking.
- Hands-on experience with network operating systems including SONiC, IOS, IOS-XR, EOS, and Junos, plus automated configuration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with traffic generators, Docker, containerlab, Linux networking, YAML/JSON configuration, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
Nice to have
- Experience with SONiC config_db, YANG models, and SAI.
- Experience integrating Snappi/OTG or vendor SDKs for automated traffic flows, sessions, and KPI validation.
