QA Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: Mexico City; hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Design and maintain automated tests for FastAPI services, including schemas, error handling, authentication flows, and service boundaries.
• Build integration tests for critical ingestion, graph, query, and result workflows.
• Validate data consistency under retries, partial failures, asynchronous processing, realistic load, and stress conditions.
• Implement targeted end-to-end and API smoke tests using pytest-driven flows and containerized environments.
• Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines and enforce coverage, integration, and graph-integrity quality gates.
• Collaborate with engineers on API, graph-query, and Kubernetes scaling behavior while reducing test flakiness.

Requirements

• Experience testing backend systems, APIs, and microservices.
• Production-quality Python experience and familiarity with pytest or similar frameworks.
• Experience designing integration tests across services and working with CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work with incomplete requirements and use testing to define expected behavior.
• Strong written and spoken English required for cross-border collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with FastAPI or similar Python frameworks.
• Experience with Kubernetes, distributed systems, data pipelines, or ETL workflows.
• Familiarity with graph and query systems such as Neo4j, Memgraph, SQL, or Cypher.
• Exposure to load-testing tools.
