Forward Deployed Engineer, Growth (AI)

Location: In-office at the NYC headquarters, with daily in-person collaboration

Base salary: $140,000–$170,000/year for candidates based in the United States, plus equity and potential variable compensation.

What you will do

• Own engineering execution for defined projects, including implementation, debugging, testing, deployment, and iteration.
• Build AI-powered tools, applications, scripts, and integrations connecting LLMs, APIs, and business data.
• Evaluate AI outputs against real examples, handle edge cases, and improve workflow reliability.
• Join prospect conversations and email threads to answer technical questions and demonstrate practical AI applications.
• Build prototypes, scripts, or lightweight tools using relevant sample data and documents after customer discussions.
• Document reusable components and communicate technical constraints and tradeoffs to Product and Core Engineering.

Requirements

• 4+ years of technical experience, ideally in an AI or analytics consulting practice, forward-deployed engineering, or solutions engineering.
• Experience building AI-powered products or workflows used by real people, including prompt engineering, retrieval, agents, or evaluations.
• Ability to explain how LLMs work clearly to nontechnical operators and help them apply AI effectively.
• Strong client instincts, including communicating with skeptical executives and translating technical constraints into practical guidance.
• Comfort with customer-facing work, prospect calls, demonstrations, and in-person collaboration; approximately half the week is people-facing.
