Revenue Accountant (SaaS)

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $70,000–$80,000 annualized base salary

What you will do

• Support revenue recognition under ASC 606, U.S. GAAP, and company accounting policies.
• Review customer contracts, sales orders, amendments, and pricing terms to identify revenue accounting requirements.
• Prepare revenue schedules and monthly roll-forwards for SaaS subscriptions, professional services, and other revenue streams.
• Process royalty and reseller partner reports, payments, minimum fees, and related accounting calculations.
• Investigate variances across subledger, billing, and general ledger systems and resolve discrepancies with cross-functional teams.
• Support audits, SOX controls, system initiatives, process automation, and accounting process improvements.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of accounting experience, including relevant internship or co-op experience, and a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
• Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and financial formulas.
• Ability to interpret contracts, pricing terms, and financial data and work with large data sets.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
• Must be eligible to work remotely from the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with ASC 606, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, or revenue reconciliation.
• Experience in SaaS, software, subscription, or technology companies.
• Experience with royalty accounting, reseller accounting, licensing agreements, partner reporting, or revenue billing systems.
• Experience with NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, another ERP system, SOX controls, or external audits.
