Director, Store Design (Retail)

Compensation: $160,000–$205,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of global store design projects from concept development through construction and opening.
• Direct design across full-price, off-price, travel retail, and wholesale formats in international markets.
• Partner with Retail, Visual Merchandising, Store Operations, IT, Construction, and international teams.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, design standards, architectural and construction documentation, landlord approvals, fixtures, and specifications.
• Translate business and operational needs into scalable spatial solutions while adapting global standards to local markets.
• Identify risks, develop solution pathways, align stakeholders, and mentor junior team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; architecture or interior design preferred.
• At least 12 years of experience in retail architecture, store design, or multi-site projects.
• Experience leading, managing, and mentoring internal teams and external consultants.
• Experience with traditional design firms and field construction strongly preferred.
• Portfolio demonstrating conceptual design, custom millwork, and completed project experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office, with strong organization and communication skills.
