Digital Engineering – Requirements Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

Salary: $20.00–$45.00 per hour

What you will do

• Assist with eliciting functional and non-functional requirements from stakeholders and documenting clear, verifiable specifications.
• Maintain requirements traceability matrices and connect requirements with architectural elements and test cases.
• Support systems engineering, digital engineering, digital twin, digital thread, and model-driven engineering activities.
• Conduct requirement analysis, identify gaps or conflicts, propose mitigations, and support process improvements.
• Implement, test, analyze, and document engineering solutions, including Python-based requirement-analysis workflows.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations containing plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree in engineering, computer science, physics, or a related STEM field.
• Experience translating high-level mission objectives into detailed, verifiable requirements specifications.
• Experience with trade-space analysis in a model-driven environment and assessing performance impacts of alternative designs.
• Scientific programming experience in Python and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a process-oriented environment while adapting to shifting priorities.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Systems Engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering, and Data Science.
• Familiarity with MagicDraw or other SysML tools for requirements modeling and traceability management.
• Exposure to trade-space exploration, data-state management, and multi-domain data architectures.
