Maintenance and Reliability Manager (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Fort Scott, Kansas; must be local to Fort Scott, KS. Onsite role.

Salary: $93,530–$137,181 annually, plus discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Develop and execute the site’s maintenance and reliability strategy while leading multidisciplinary maintenance teams across shifts.
• Implement reliability programs including RCM, FMEA, predictive maintenance, root-cause analysis, and asset lifecycle optimization.
• Lead mechanical integrity and Process Safety Management activities, including inspections, MOC, PSSR, PHA/HAZOP actions, and compliance documentation.
• Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, CMMS data quality, emergency response, shutdowns, turnarounds, and contractor coordination.
• Partner with Engineering on capital projects, equipment selection, commissioning, and maintenance-related plant upgrades.
• Manage budgets, spare parts, vendors, KPIs, and Lean/Six Sigma improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, coatings, or regulated manufacturing with direct plant leadership.
• At least 5 years of experience leading multidisciplinary maintenance teams.
• Experience with PSM-regulated processes, mechanical integrity programs, CMMS/EAM platforms, and reliability methodologies.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems, as well as OSHA, EPA, NEC, NFPA, and maintenance safety standards.
• Ability to manage complex budgets, capital planning, multiple priorities, production-floor work, PPE requirements, and variable shifts including some weekends.
