PVD Equipment Engineer (Semiconductor): Supporting and optimizing PVD equipment and advanced processes in an 8-inch wafer fabrication facility with an accent on equipment reliability, process qualification, and statistical validation. Focus on developing maintenance and monitoring systems, troubleshooting process-equipment interactions, and implementing FDC, SPC, FDC, baselining, and matching methods for high-volume manufacturing.

Location: Fort Collins, Colorado, United States; onsite at 4380 Ziegler Road

Annual base salary: USD 91,100–146,000, plus discretionary bonus and equity opportunities.

hirify.global's Wireless Semiconductor Division operates an advanced 8-inch wafer fabrication facility focused on semiconductor process and device development.

What you will do

  • Own tactical execution and strategic improvement of PVD equipment, including hardware and software optimization.
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, improve, maintain, upgrade, and convert semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Develop, document, implement, and support preventive, predictive, and high-precision maintenance procedures.
  • Establish equipment and process robustness through characterization, qualification, and statistical validation.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineering, R&D, internal teams, and external partners on technology-development projects.
  • Implement equipment-performance monitoring using SPC, FDC, baselining, and matching to detect deviations before product impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or materials science.
  • At least 5 years of experience with semiconductor or semiconductor-adjacent processes and equipment; PVD or thin-films experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong equipment engineering, diagnostic, troubleshooting, structured problem-solving, and data-analysis skills.
  • Practical experience with FDC systems, including setup, diagnostics, and maintenance, plus SPC, DOE, and statistical hypothesis testing.
  • Experience with JMP, Minitab, Spotfire, Excel, or Access, as well as hand tools, hardware, and fittings.
  • U.S. work authorization is required.

Nice to have

  • Basic understanding of MEMS and active-device microfabrication techniques.
  • Experience with PVD or other thin-films equipment.
