Technical Mission Director (AI/Software Modernization)

Location: National Capital Region-local; regular onsite support at a government facility in Springfield, Virginia, with increasing SCIF engagement. Some hybrid flexibility is available.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day execution for multidisciplinary government and industry teams, establishing Scrum ceremonies, backlog management, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and release planning.
• Coordinate government stakeholders and multiple technology vendors while managing priorities, dependencies, milestones, technical risks, and blockers.
• Maintain integrated delivery plans and communicate mission outcomes, technical risks, resource needs, decisions, and schedules.
• Partner with technical architects and engineering leads across platform engineering, DevSecOps, data, AI, and agentic systems.
• Coordinate the transition from prototype environments into classified operational environments, including readiness and SCIF collaboration.
• Advise government customers on technical priorities, mission modernization, acquisition opportunities, and repeatable delivery patterns.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Local to the National Capital Region and able to support regular onsite work in Springfield, Virginia.
• 7+ years leading Agile software, technology, or mission programs.
• Hands-on Scrum and Agile delivery experience, including backlog, sprint, dependency, retrospective, and release planning.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams, concurrent technical workstreams, government stakeholders, and technology vendors.
• Technical fluency in modern software delivery, DevSecOps, cloud, Kubernetes, CI/CD, AI/ML, and data platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience with generative AI, AI agents, data platforms, or enterprise AI ecosystems.
• Experience with OpenShift, OpenShift AI, GitLab, NVIDIA AI, or enterprise data platforms.
• Familiarity with NIST 800-53, RMF, ATO processes, continuous authorization, and security engineering.
• Experience transitioning capabilities into Secret or TS/SCI environments and coordinating complex multi-vendor integrations.
• CSM, PSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP, PMP, or comparable Agile/program certification.
