What you will do

  • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve complex homeowners property and casualty claims.
  • Handle fire, water, dwelling fire, tenant, condominium, personal property, disputed damage, special investigation, and litigation-related claims.
  • Review policies, estimates, photographs, statements, inspection and police reports, medical or hospital records, and surveillance evidence to determine coverage and claim value.
  • Adjust reserves, recommend payments, issue payment or denial correspondence, and maintain accurate claim documentation.
  • Coordinate with insureds, claimants, agents, underwriters, attorneys, public adjusters, contractors, restoration vendors, and internal claims professionals.
  • Consult legal counsel on coverage, legal, and other complex matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years of relevant residential property and casualty experience or training handling property or liability claims.
  • Experience with claims systems such as PTS and ImageRight, plus Xactimate and XactAnalysis.
  • Texas adjuster’s license and other appropriate state adjuster licenses, with a commitment to maintaining continuing education credits.
  • Strong analytical, written, verbal communication, negotiation, customer service, organization, and workload-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to work independently while handling difficult customer situations.
