Senior Network Architect

Location: Leeds or Manchester, United Kingdom. Hybrid working requires spending at least two days per week, or 40% of working time, at an office site.

Salary: £72,702–£80,780 per year

What you will do

• Contribute to solution architecture for the Bank network, connecting data centres, hosting locations, offices, branches, and external services.
• Design resilient and secure network, connectivity, and infrastructure delivery patterns that meet enterprise standards.
• Produce reusable connectivity patterns and support migration approaches for major transformation programmes.
• Shape decisions covering routing, domain name services, load balancing, network traffic flow control, and application deployment.
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering, cyber security, delivery, service teams, and suppliers to align design, assurance, deployment, and operations.
• Keep risk, compliance, resilience, and operational readiness at the forefront of network architecture decisions.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of network architecture or senior network engineering experience in a regulated environment, with a focus on resilience and security.
• Knowledge of software-defined networking for data centre, wide-area, office, and branch deployments, including Cisco technology and internal and external connectivity solutions.
• At least 3 years of experience designing or assuring network traffic-flow controls, including network segmentation, network access control, firewalls, intrusion controls, detection and response, and control mapping.
• At least 3 years of experience producing and assuring high-level designs, options papers, architecture decision records, standards, and governance submissions.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience bringing architecture, engineering, cyber security, delivery, and service teams together.
• Experience with hybrid and public cloud connectivity, including integration between on-premises data centre networks and cloud-hosted services.
