TL;DR

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid work requiring three days per week in the Berlin office

Salary: €60,900–€76,100 gross annually in Germany

hirify.global designs, builds, and operates a large constellation of imaging satellites and delivers Earth observation data through a cloud-based platform.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain real-time, mission-critical software for satellite operations.
  • Perform daily fleet checks, investigate on-orbit anomalies, and support on-call operations.
  • Test and deploy flight software upgrades and conduct on-orbit experiments.
  • Create operational procedures and analyze data across the full stack of services.
  • Improve fleet capacity and productivity through process and automation enhancements.
  • Provide technical feedback to launch, manufacturing, and spacecraft engineering teams and help shape next-generation spacecraft strategies.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in spacecraft operations or a closely related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Thorough understanding of satellite subsystems and Earth observation missions.
  • Working proficiency in Python or a comparable language, including system modeling, operational data analysis, and production code contributions.
  • Experience completing engineering projects end to end and applying statistical analysis.
  • Professional working proficiency in English is required.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience operating spacecraft or remote systems.
  • Experience with Earth observation systems and hardware-in-the-loop testing infrastructure.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices such as Git, GitLab, Docker, Jenkins, Bash, Linux, CI/CD, Sentry, and Datadog.
  • Familiarity with automation and optimization tools.
