AIT Propulsion Engineer

The Exploration Company develops, produces, and operates Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle designed for cargo transport and future in-orbit refueling.

What you will do

• Prepare equipment integration and functional tests for propulsion qualification and flight models.
• Manage qualification campaigns for mechanical propulsion components.
• Procure tools, flight ground support equipment, and test setups for AIT operations.
• Plan integration procedures and schedules while collaborating with the design team on integration-friendly designs.
• Perform assembly, integration, and testing of propulsion components, including engines, thrusters, pumps, and igniters.
• Run functional tests such as TVAC, outgassing, hydrostatic, proof, and flow coefficient characterization tests; document results and define lessons learned.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in mechanical science, propulsion, or an equivalent engineering discipline.
• Understanding of liquid propulsion systems.
• Mechanical assembly experience, with the ability to contribute to small tool and ground support equipment design.
• Electrical testing skills, including sensor data acquisition, simple Python scripting, and harnesses.
• Organized, rigorous, hands-on, inventive, and able to solve problems and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a new team.
