Systems Engineer for Training Simulation & Innovation (AI)

What you will do

• Develop and assess innovative training and simulation solutions for future combat air systems.
• Apply systems engineering methods across the complete system lifecycle and define system, solution, and reference architectures.
• Design and integrate Virtual Engineering and Extended Reality (XR) solutions, including AI-enabled training simulation concepts.
• Mature concepts through rapid prototyping, demonstrators, proofs of concept, and technical feasibility studies.
• Develop business cases, strategies, roadmaps, and technology plans while assessing emerging technologies and cooperation opportunities.
• Collaborate with customers, partners, research organizations, suppliers, and internal functions while supporting proposals, compliance, export control, and make-or-buy decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Sciences.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in Systems Engineering.
• Experience in Virtual Engineering, applied MBSE, technical studies, rapid prototyping, and demonstrator development.
• Ability to translate complex technical challenges into implementable solution concepts and evaluate technical, commercial, and strategic interdependencies.
• Knowledge of Intellectual Property Rights, Export Control, PRC, compliance, and internal approval processes.
• Fluent English required; German language skills are an advantage. Security clearance or eligibility for clearance is required.

Nice to have

• German language skills.
• Experience with combat air systems, unmanned aircraft systems, distributed synthetic training, Live, Virtual and Constructive Training, digital twins, or synthetic environments.
