Global Legal Director (E-commerce)

What you will do

• Formulate and execute the global legal strategy and establish a legal risk management system.
• Lead commercial contract drafting, review, negotiation, templates, approval workflows, and contract management.
• Support investments, M&A, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and business restructurings.
• Advise on cross-border e-commerce, retail, consumer protection, advertising, marketing, product compliance, and supply chain matters.
• Build global data privacy and information security compliance frameworks, including incident response and regulatory investigations.
• Develop intellectual property and brand protection strategies covering trademarks, copyrights, patents, domains, trade secrets, and infringement matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in law and qualification to practice in China or another major jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of legal experience, including at least 5 years in legal management within cross-border e-commerce, consumer goods, retail, internet platforms, or multinational corporations.
• Deep commercial law and compliance knowledge in at least two of China, North America, Europe, and the UK.
• Experience with commercial contracts, consumer protection, advertising, data privacy, intellectual property, product compliance, and supply chain legal matters.
• Professional working proficiency in Chinese and English, including strong English legal writing, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Strong leadership, cross-cultural communication, team-building, business judgment, risk assessment, dispute resolution, and project management capabilities.

Nice to have

• Qualification to practice law in multiple jurisdictions.
• Prior experience as a global or regional head of legal, Legal Director, General Counsel, or Chief Legal Officer.
