Journalist-Persian TV

Location: London, United Kingdom. Full-time shift work on a rota, including overnight, early-morning, and late-evening shifts.

Salary: £36,000–£39,000 per year, plus £5,441 London Weighting, depending on skills, knowledge, and experience.

What you will do

• Research, write, assemble, edit, and deliver news outputs using video, audio, and digital production equipment.
• Present live or recorded content for television, radio, and online platforms.
• Handle pre-production, post-production, studio work, translation, website and social-media content, programme text, and graphics.
• Find and coordinate guests, book satellite slots for live broadcasts, and support field reporters as a producer.
• Work collaboratively on rota-based shifts and lead specific journalism pieces or projects when required.
• Prioritise activities and manage deadlines, staffing, and available resources.

Requirements

• Significant recent journalism experience and strong knowledge of production techniques.
• Native or equivalent fluency in modern standard Farsi, with excellent spoken and written skills and fast, accurate typing.
• Full written and spoken English proficiency with effective communication skills.
• Experience creating stories and programmes for television, online, and social-media platforms.
• Sound editorial judgment and the ability to produce accurate, impartial journalism under tight deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of Iran, the region, international news, and the Persian digital market.
