What you will do
- Manage the daily news list and schedule to ensure three stories are published every weekday.
- Line-manage the team's news reporter, providing guidance and constructive feedback for their development.
- Source news stories and build strong relationships with industry contacts and opinion leaders.
- Write and sub-edit high-quality news content tailored to healthcare IT leaders.
- Publish and promote content via WordPress, social media, and weekly newsletters.
- Represent the brand at annual conferences, meetings, and press events.
Requirements
- Superior writing and editing skills with strong news judgment from journalism or content settings.
- Excellent organizational skills for juggling multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to quickly edit copy for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and house style accuracy.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with both remote and face-to-face colleagues.
- Genuine interest in healthcare IT and the NHS.
- Must have the right to work in the UK (Sponsorship not usually offered).
Nice to have
- Prior experience in formal line management or mentorship of junior colleagues.
- Experience using content management systems (CMS).
- Experience writing complex topics, features, or commercially-backed content.
- Specific knowledge of the healthcare or IT sectors.
