Staff AI Engineer (Agentic AI/Python): Designing and delivering agentic AI applications that plan tasks, use tools, manage context, and operate reliably in production with an accent on software architecture, enterprise integrations, and responsible AI controls. Focus on building evaluation and release processes, securing tool execution, supporting Azure and Databricks deployments, and leading complex technical work across engineering teams.

What you will do
- Design and build agentic AI applications that plan tasks, use tools, manage context and adapt to results.
- Develop production software, APIs, backend services and enterprise integrations while shaping application architecture.
- Take AI applications from prototypes to production through automated testing, agent evaluations, controlled releases and operational support.
- Monitor task success, performance and cost, and improve failure recovery and deployment readiness across Azure, Databricks and related services.
- Implement privacy, security and Responsible AI controls, including access permissions, protected credentials and human review for consequential actions.
- Lead complex technical initiatives, make architectural decisions, mentor engineers and share reusable tools and practices.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML engineering or a related discipline, including complex production systems and agentic applications.
- Strong architecture experience across APIs, backend services, distributed systems and enterprise integrations.
- Advanced Python skills and strong engineering fundamentals, including automated testing, code review, version control and maintainable design.
- Working knowledge of SQL, data access patterns, context engineering, memory and agent evaluation.
- Experience delivering secure cloud applications with CI/CD, containers and observability, including identity, authorization, privacy and model-output risks.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, cross-team influence, mentoring and experience improving engineering quality through reusable patterns.
Nice to have
- Experience with Azure and Databricks or comparable cloud and AI platforms.
- Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript and web application development.
- Experience with agent SDKs, MCP integrations and AI-assisted software development.
