Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Macquarie Park, NSW, Australia; hybrid arrangement with three days in the office and two days remote or from home

Compensation includes AUD 80 monthly credit, plus competitive remuneration.

What you will do

• Design and architect scalable automation and observability platforms for national-scale telecommunications networks.
• Drive technical initiatives from concept through production and make decisions balancing performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with network engineers, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to turn operational needs into technical solutions.
• Build and improve streaming data pipelines and AI-powered automation systems.
• Establish engineering standards, introduce technologies that improve team efficiency, and participate in on-call and incident response for critical systems.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 4 years of experience building and shipping production software, preferably in Go and Python.
• Experience with Linux, event-streaming platforms such as Kafka, and real-time data processing.
• Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, VictoriaMetrics, and Elasticsearch; CI/CD; databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB; and RESTful APIs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with GraphQL or gRPC.
• Exposure to AI/ML frameworks such as LangChain or PyTorch.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as n8n or Temporal.
