Senior Process Engineer (AI)

Automating construction and engineering design end to end through an AI-enabled product for large-scale infrastructure and capital projects.

What you will do

• Bring hands-on process engineering expertise into an automated engineering design product.
• Apply heat and material balances, PFDs, P&IDs, emissions control, and equipment sizing to product development.
• Translate process engineering judgment, review practices, and decision-making into capabilities within the automated design engine.
• Help produce construction design deliverables for large-scale projects, including natural gas power generation.
• Identify technical bottlenecks and solve high-impact engineering problems through first-principles thinking.
• Build simulation, calculation, analysis, and AI-assisted software tools that scale engineering workflows.

Requirements

• Senior-level process design experience at an engineering firm or owner.
• End-to-end process design experience in gas power, industrial plants, chemical production, polymer synthesis, or a similar field.
• Broad understanding of how process engineering connects to adjacent disciplines, with deep expertise in one or two areas.
• Strong first-principles thinking, hands-on execution, and ability to work through detailed calculations, edge cases, and design reviews.
• Ability to prioritize impact, identify bottlenecks, and take extreme ownership in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in person in San Francisco, CA.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer certification.
• Experience designing utility-scale natural gas power generation plants.
• Experience building simulation, calculation, analysis, or other engineering software tools.
• Experience with AI coding agents such as Codex or Claude Code.
