Technical Services Engineer (Portworx)

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina, United States; primarily in-office at the North Carolina office

Salary: $122,000–$183,000 USD annual base salary, with possible incentive pay and/or equity

What you will do

• Serve as the primary technical contact for strategic, high-value customer accounts.
• Proactively monitor deployments and provide high-touch support to prevent production-impacting issues.
• Own critical incident resolution across large-scale Kubernetes environments and the full software stack.
• Collaborate with escalation and development teams to reproduce bugs, analyze logs, and improve product reliability.
• Guide customers through pre-sales proofs of concept, onboarding, production scaling, and Kubernetes cluster optimization.
• Create knowledge-base content and lead knowledge-sharing sessions to codify best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years of customer-facing technical support experience, including specialized support for critical accounts.
• Proven experience deploying, managing, and securing production Kubernetes clusters across distributions such as OpenShift, Tanzu, EKS, RKE, or GKE.
• Deep Linux expertise with specialized knowledge of storage components and data-layer troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience supporting solutions across AWS, Azure, GCP, and virtualization platforms such as vSphere.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage high-stakes customer relationships and escalations.
