TL;DR
Motor Assembler II (Electric Motors): Building electric motor sub-assemblies and final assemblies, including stators, rotors, housings, bearings, shafts, and basic motor lead wiring, with an accent on blueprint-based assembly, dimensional inspection, and production quality. Focus on fitting and aligning mechanical components, using hand and power tools, documenting defects and rework, and supporting motor testing in a manufacturing environment.

Location: Onsite in Thomaston, Connecticut, United States. U.S. citizenship and the ability to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship are required.

Salary: $25.23–$30.28 per hour

What you will do

  • Assemble electric motor components and sub-assemblies, including stators, rotors, housings, bearings, shafts, brackets, and related hardware.
  • Read and follow SOPs, work instructions, blueprints, and technical drawings to build assemblies to specification.
  • Perform mechanical fitting, alignment, basic motor lead wiring, adjustments, repairs, and basic motor testing.
  • Conduct visual and basic dimensional inspections and report defective materials, documentation discrepancies, and unusual conditions.
  • Use fixtures, gauges, hand tools, power tools, PPE, and dielectric solvents safely on the manufacturing floor.
  • Document production work, defects, and rework while collaborating with supervisors, engineering, quality, and production teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience using basic hand tools.
  • Ability to read work orders, work instructions, and basic blueprints or technical drawings.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs, perform repetitive motions, and stand for extended periods.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to meet NOFORN requirements; acceptable proof of citizenship and an attestation of no dual citizenship are required.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

Nice to have

  • 1–2 years of manufacturing or assembly experience.
  • Experience with SOPs, work instructions, production documentation, and product electrical or mechanical assembly.
  • Basic knowledge of electric motors, bearings, shafts, windings, maintenance, or repair.
  • Basic computer proficiency for accessing work instructions, entering production data, and viewing drawings.
