Design Director, Speciality Accessories and Technical Design

Location: New York, New York, USA (Corporate Headquarters)

Base pay range: $155,000.00-$175,000.00 per year

What you will do

• Set the design vision for specialty accessories across women's, men's, runway, and outlet collections.
• Oversee Specialty Accessories and Special Projects Technical Design from concept through commercialization.
• Lead and develop the specialty accessories design and technical design teams.
• Translate brand narratives and runway concepts into accessories such as bag charms, belts, gifting, Coach Create, Coffee Shop merchandise, and runway specialty products.
• Partner with Product Development, Merchandising, and Materials teams to balance quality, functionality, cost, and timing.
• Review lines, prototypes, and samples while presenting design intent and mentoring team members.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in accessories design and technical design.
• Experience leading and aligning creative and technical teams and bridging design vision with product execution.
• Experience with an established global brand and commercial product development.
• Experience mentoring or managing junior designers.
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Accessories Design, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong design sensibility, communication, collaboration, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple categories and timelines.

Nice to have

• Experience with specialty, novelty, or small leather goods categories.
• Runway or elevated collection experience.
