Hardware Director, Electrical Engineering

Location: Woodinville, Washington, United States; hybrid onsite schedule with four days per week in the office and approximately 25% travel, including trips to Asia and New York

Base salary: $219,600–$279,750 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead approximately 20 electrical engineers and support personnel across the Woodinville and Taiwan offices.
• Set technical direction and make final decisions on electrical architectures throughout concept, prototyping, mass production, and sustaining engineering.
• Lead architecture, schematic, PCB/layout, design, failure investigation, and technical readiness reviews.
• Drive root-cause analysis and ensure compliance with EMC, safety, environmental, reliability, and global regulatory requirements.
• Develop reusable architectures, platforms, methodologies, and technologies that improve engineering efficiency.
• Coordinate with product, program, mechanical, software/firmware, quality, supply chain, safety, compliance, and manufacturing partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience developing electronics hardware for complex electromechanical consumer products.
• At least 5 years of engineering leadership experience, including direct people management.
• Experience with high-volume manufacturing, contract manufacturers, ODMs, component suppliers, and technology partners.
• Working knowledge of EMC/EMI, product safety, reliability, environmental qualification, and global regulatory compliance, including UL, IEC, FCC, and CE standards.
• Ability to work onsite in Woodinville four days per week and travel approximately 25% of the time.
