Sr. Scientist, Protein Design (AI)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. Only U.S. persons are eligible due to U.S. export control requirements.

Salary: $130,800–$209,400 per year, with potential eligibility for discretionary bonus, incentive compensation, or equity.

What you will do

• Apply AI-enabled protein design workflows to generate and prioritize de novo antibodies, binders, and antigen designs.
• Use structure prediction, generative design, sequence design, docking, scoring, and developability analysis for therapeutic targets.
• Build and maintain AI protein design frameworks, including model training and inference, automated design generation, filtering, scoring, and prioritization.
• Collaborate with experimental teams to interpret screening, selection, and biophysical data and drive iterative design cycles.
• Develop multi-agent systems and closed-loop computational design and wet-lab testing workflows.
• Establish benchmarking standards and contribute to cross-functional protein design strategy.

Requirements

• PhD in biophysics, biochemistry, structural biology, computational biology, or a related field.
• Extensive post-PhD experience at the Senior Scientist level in computational protein design.
• Hands-on experience with computational protein design, structural modeling, applied machine learning, or a related field.
• Strong publication or patent record demonstrating impact in protein design, structural biology, or applied machine learning.
• Experience with tools and methods such as RFdiffusion, ProteinMPNN, AlphaFold-family methods, Rosetta, protein language models, or related generative approaches.
• Strong independent, collaborative, critical-thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling workflows on HPC or cloud infrastructure, including distributed computing, workflow orchestration, and containerization.
