Analyst Internship - Actuarial (CFO Org)

Location: Hybrid role requiring residence within commutable distance of the Bethesda, MD or Chicago, IL offices, with at least three days per week in the office.

Annual salary: $24.93–$41.21.

What you will do

• Support actuarial projects involving reserving analysis, claim trend analysis, and frequency/severity projections.
• Analyze business drivers that affect insurance losses, growth, and profitability.
• Develop and present analyses and proposals to stakeholder groups.
• Use Excel, SQL, R, Snowflake, Power BI, and ResQ in actuarial and data analysis work.
• Participate in insurance, actuarial, and technical training, internship forums, and departmental meetings.
• Take part in networking activities and receive the opportunity to interview for a full-time position after the internship.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics, business, data or business analytics, or another relevant quantitative field, with expected graduation by May 2028.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; all transcripts must be submitted.
• Must live within commuting distance of Bethesda, MD or Chicago, IL and work from the office at least three days per week.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, time-management, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Intermediate Excel skills and basic proficiency with R, SAS, SQL, Python, Power BI, or similar data analysis tools.
