What you will do

• Create a safe, interactive environment that encourages students to participate in physical activity.
• Develop fitness through team-building activities, stretching, cardio, calisthenics, structured sports, and games.
• Teach an engaging, culturally responsive physical education curriculum for diverse learners.
• Build positive relationships with students and support healthy habits and social-emotional development.
• Partner with families and grade-level colleagues to support student learning and develop instructional strategies.
• Participate in professional development, mentorship, coaching, and weekly school-wide meetings.

Requirements

• Demonstrated commitment to students’ social-emotional and academic development.
• Interest in supporting K–12 students in urban schools and communities; 1–2 years of experience is preferred.
• Expertise in high school education, physical education, sports science and management, kinesiology, physical fitness, or collegiate athletics.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 before employment begins.
• Teacher certification is not required for hiring, but Massachusetts state certification tests must be passed after hiring.
• Ability to collaborate, learn independently, and apply feedback to improve outcomes.
