Product Lead, Collections (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid roles based in Bogota, Colombia; Mexico City, Mexico; or Sao Paulo, Brazil. Hybrid work includes time in the office, customer interactions or visits, and working from home; office presence is expected organically and may be required during ramp-up or by the team lead.

What you will do

• Own discovery, prioritization, strategy, and business outcomes for the Collections squad.
• Drive improvements in recovery rates, days-to-resolution, roll rates, and operational costs.
• Design collection workflows covering early-stage payment nudges, digital payments, escalation paths, and external partner handoffs.
• Manage delinquent portfolio tools, early delinquency signals, lending facilities, and collection lifecycle capabilities.
• Partner with Finance, Risk, Legal, Customer Support, and senior software engineers to improve operations, reliability, and recovery processes.
• Prototype and validate product ideas with AI tools and occasionally contribute copy, configuration, feature flags, or analytics changes through GitHub pull requests.

Requirements

• Working proficiency in English.
• At least 5 years of product management experience, including 2 or more years owning a credit, collections, or risk-adjacent product in fintech, banking, or lending.
• Proven ownership of product outcomes from discovery through execution and demonstrated impact on core business metrics.
• Technical fluency with APIs, services, databases, message queuing, and GitHub workflows including branches, commits, pull requests, and diffs.
• Hands-on SQL experience, strong data literacy, cohort analysis, and experiment design skills.
• Strong cross-functional communication, adaptability, and ability to operate with high agency in a fast-changing environment.

Nice to have

• Basic Spanish or Portuguese proficiency, or willingness to learn.
• Cross-border experience across Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil, including payment gateways, external collections agencies, or local debt recovery regulations.
• Experience using spreadsheets, SQL, or Python for custom dashboards and deep-dive analysis.
• Experience or interest in using AI tools to automate workflows and validate ideas early.
