Customer Onboarding Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: US, Remote

Base salary: $126,000–$140,000 annually, plus equity in the form of stock options.

What you will do

• Lead customer kickoffs and own the first 30 days from sales handoff through successful production deployment.
• Manage implementation plans, scope, owners, access paths, compliance constraints, blockers, and go-live criteria.
• Deploy and troubleshoot Linux systems, Docker containers, Kubernetes workloads, and cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Resolve networking, identity, integration, and security issues involving TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, RBAC, SSO, Active Directory, and LDAP.
• Perform root-cause analysis, define reusable deployment patterns, and create scripts, Terraform modules, dashboards, and customer-ready runbooks.
• Collaborate with Customer Success, Engineering, Product, and Sales while mentoring junior onboarding and support engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in technical support, systems administration, cloud operations, implementation, or a similar enterprise role.
• Strong production Linux administration, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, containerization, and networking experience.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes or similar orchestration, AWS/Azure/GCP, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of identity management, REST APIs, authentication, databases, observability, and scripting with Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Ability to lead customer-facing technical engagements to a 30-day finish line with minimal supervision.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Datadog, Amazon RDS, Python, JavaScript, or Go.
• Prior onboarding, professional services, or technical account management experience with defined time-to-go-live targets.
• Cloud or Linux certifications, personal projects, open-source work, or experience creating reusable implementation assets.
