WL - Production Planner (Manufacturing)

Location: Ward Leonard LLC, 401 Watertown Rd, Thomaston, Connecticut, United States. Primarily office-based with regular interaction with the manufacturing floor, production areas, and warehouses. U.S. citizenship is required due to government contracts.

Salary: $75,000–$94,000 per year

What you will do

• Plan and schedule customer orders, inventory orders, fabricated parts, repairs, and outside vendor services.
• Monitor backlog, open orders, work-in-process, shipping status, and customer on-time delivery risks.
• Create, firm, release, and reschedule work orders in the VISUAL MRP system.
• Perform yearly, monthly, and ongoing capacity planning, including load leveling and bottleneck prevention.
• Coordinate RFQs, purchase orders, supplier schedules, and overdue vendor actions.
• Maintain item master data, planning parameters, reports, bills of material, and schedule-related communications.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required due to government contracts.
• High school diploma, GED, or trade school certificate.
• At least five years of planning experience in an ERP/MRP-managed manufacturing environment.
• Experience in an ISO-certified environment, including ISO 9001:2008 or ISO 9001:2015.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems; Infor VISUAL or an equivalent system is strongly preferred.
• Ability to interpret sales orders, work orders, bills of material, and related manufacturing documents, with strong attention to data accuracy.

Nice to have

• Associate’s degree in a technical, business, or related field.
• Experience in job-shop or engineer-to-order manufacturing.
• Experience with capacity planning, load leveling, outside services, and vendor-managed processes.
