Java Engineer II (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Rosslyn, Virginia, with onsite attendance twice a week

Salary: $115,000–$140,000 per year

What you will do

• Build and maintain Java and Spring Boot backend microservices for enterprise AI operations.
• Implement REST API endpoints, business logic, and OpenFGA data model management features.
• Design event-driven architectures and integrate services with cloud-native platforms.
• Write unit and integration tests, debug defects, and maintain reliable operational workflows.
• Participate in code reviews, team ceremonies, documentation, and technical onboarding support.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and scalable data delivery.

Requirements

• Secret clearance is required before starting.
• 4–6 years of professional experience.
• Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency with core AWS services.
• High school diploma or equivalent GED.

Nice to have

• Experience working with AI, DevSecOps, data engineering, platform engineering, or cybersecurity teams.
• Familiarity with Django, NATS, Kafka, Redis, ClickHouse, OpenTelemetry, OpenRouter, or LiteLLM.
• Experience in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.
