Embedded Software Engineer (C/C++)

Salary: $140,500–$221,500 annually. For specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area, the range is $174,000–$261,000 annually.

What you will do

• Develop and integrate embedded software in C and C++.
• Build embedded and system test software using C, C++, and Python.
• Develop and deploy Linux applications in Python, C, C++, and Rust, as well as FreeRTOS applications in C and C++.
• Build applications for microprocessors, embedded processors, and FPGAs.
• Design bare-metal embedded device drivers and resolve complex integration issues.
• Design CI/CD infrastructure, lead design reviews, document solutions, and improve product reliability and security within an Agile Scrum environment.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience with C and C++.
• Expertise in multithreaded applications and inter-process communication.
• Understanding of real-time concepts on embedded Linux or RTOS platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
• US citizenship is required for this government role.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a United States Secret clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with CI/CD, Python, Linux kernel drivers, RTOS, standalone embedded applications, and FPGA-based architectures.
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, Jira, Jama, Artifactory, Ethernet protocols, network security protocols, and emulation environments.
• Experience with AI toolkits and platforms such as Copilot, Claude, or Cursor.
