Location: Washington, DC, United States. The role supports a federal customer, requires an active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance, and requires verification of eligibility to work in the United States. The position is essential personnel and may require work during government shutdowns, emergencies, or other critical situations.
Salary: $207,000–$320,000 per year, plus potential bonuses and additional incentives.

What you will do
- Design, implement, operate, and manage firewalls, VPNs, intrusion prevention systems, and network access control solutions.
- Secure network perimeters and internal segments through segmentation, policy design, defense-in-depth, and threat mitigation.
- Manage firewall rule sets, VPN tunnels, security policies, and enterprise security platforms in mission-critical environments.
- Respond to security incidents, vulnerabilities, and operational requirements while continuously hardening network infrastructure.
- Support Agile planning, security risk discussions, architecture improvements, and communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Serve as a hands-on technical subject matter expert delivering secure solutions with minimal ramp-up.
Requirements
- Active U.S. Government-issued Top Secret security clearance or higher is required.
- U.S. work eligibility must be verified upon hire.
- 10+ years of network engineering experience focused on enterprise network security infrastructure.
- Deep hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks, Cisco security technologies, Cisco ISE, Cisco ASA, IDS/IPS, and endpoint hardening.
- Security+ and at least one platform-specific security certification, such as PCNSE/Network Security Professional or a Cisco security certification.
- DoD 8140 certification aligned with the 441 Network Operations Specialist role, such as Network+, Security+, Cloud+, SSCP, CASP+, CISSP, or CCNP Security.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; relevant experience may substitute for education.
- Experience supporting Zero Trust architectures and identity-centric network security patterns.
