Network Security Engineer

Location: On-site in Edison, New Jersey, United States; U.S. citizenship required. Willingness to travel across the U.S. is required.

Salary: $80,000–$120,000 USD per year, plus benefits.

What you will do

• Implement and configure enterprise firewalls and network security solutions, including Cisco ASA, Cisco FTD, NGFW, VPN, NAT, NAC/ISE, and SASE.
• Manage firewall policies, access rules, NAT objects, zones, and security profiles according to approved designs and best practices.
• Validate firewall rules and security configurations in lab or staging environments before production deployment.
• Support migrations from Cisco ASA and third-party firewalls to Cisco FTD and troubleshoot traffic, NAT, VPN, routing, DNS, and DHCP issues.
• Own assigned delivery workstreams from lab validation through production cutover, including escalation, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with architects, senior engineers, project managers, and customer stakeholders while maintaining network diagrams, firewall documentation, VPN inventories, and operational runbooks.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required; visa sponsorship is not provided.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of cybersecurity experience focused on firewall design and implementation.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco ASA and Cisco FTD, or comparable Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Check Point firewall environments.
• Strong experience troubleshooting firewall and VPN connectivity issues involving NAT, routing, and security policies.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, NAT, VPNs, routing, switching, NGFW features, and multi-instance firewall environments.

Nice to have

• CCNP Security, CISSP, GIAC, or another recognized security certification.
• Experience with Cisco Secure Access, Umbrella, XDR, Cisco ISE, NAC/802.1X, Zero Trust, or SASE.
• Security automation and scripting experience with Python, Ansible, or APIs.
• Familiarity with PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2, or NIST compliance frameworks.
• Consulting, professional services, or partner-led delivery experience.
