Senior Director, Product Management (AI)

What you will do

• Own the multi-year strategy, roadmap, and execution for the database portfolio across self-hosted and SaaS products.
• Lead portfolio decisions covering differentiation, integrations, partnerships, product sunset plans, pricing, packaging, ARR, retention, adoption, and margin.
• Drive integration of database capabilities into hirify.global Observability while preserving critical DBA workflows.
• Define and deliver the product strategy for AI-powered database management, including agentic troubleshooting, natural-language analysis, anomaly detection, tuning recommendations, and predictive optimization.
• Establish evidence-driven discovery through customer advisory boards, community engagement, win/loss analysis, telemetry, and direct DBA research.
• Lead product managers, partner with engineering on an AI-Driven Development Lifecycle, and represent the database business with customers, analysts, partners, and executives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience and 5+ years leading product teams, including managers or senior individual contributors.
• Ownership of a software portfolio or business line with responsibility for revenue, retention, investment decisions, and commercial outcomes.
• Deep experience with databases, data platforms, or database/application performance management, including relational and cloud database internals, query execution, wait states, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, IT operations management, or enterprise infrastructure software, preferably across self-hosted and SaaS products.
• Fluency in AI and machine learning product applications, including LLMs, agentic capabilities, anomaly detection, evaluation, trust, cost, and governance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience; willingness to travel up to 20%.

Nice to have

• Prior experience as a DBA, data platform engineer, or database consultant.
• Experience integrating an acquired or standalone product into a broader platform.
• Established presence in the data platform community through speaking, writing, or open-source contribution.
• Experience with usage-based or consumption pricing for observability or data products.
