TL;DR
Quality Engineer (Manufacturing): Performing advanced inspections, audits, and quality analysis for manufacturing materials, processes, and products with an accent on defect prevention, traceability, and continuous improvement. Focus on leading cross-functional teams, analyzing non-conformances and root causes, managing corrective actions, and developing quality plans.

Location: East Peoria, Illinois, United States; onsite five days a week. Travel up to 5%. Relocation assistance is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $112,710–$169,060 per year

What you will do

  • Perform advanced inspections and audits of materials, processes, and products to verify conformance with quality standards.
  • Gather, analyze, trend, and communicate non-conformance and defect data for root-cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Maintain quality system documentation, quality plans, traceability, and audit readiness.
  • Provide technical support for internal and external audits, including corrective-action follow-up and closure.
  • Partner with manufacturing, engineering, and support teams to identify risks and implement preventive controls.
  • Lead or support quality initiatives involving Built in Quality, Lean, Defect Free, APQP, variation reduction, and waste reduction.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of quality management systems, documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to analyze root causes, evaluate alternatives, and support corrective and preventive actions.
  • Strong accuracy, attention to detail, structured decision-making, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of quality project tasks, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience is desired.

Nice to have

  • Experience in manufacturing engineering, design engineering, quality, fabrication, casting, or machining.
  • Expertise with GD&T, metrology equipment, vision systems, CMM, 3D laser or blue-light scanners.
  • ASQ quality certification such as CQE, CRE, CMQ&OE, CQA, or CSSBB.
  • Automotive supply-base, APQP, new product introduction, weld engineering, ASNT-II, or CWI experience.
  • Experience with Creo, Power BI, or similar data-analysis and visualization tools.
