Assistant Closing Manager Full Time (Retail)

Location: Chesapeake, VA #0070, United States; onsite retail club role

Salary: $20.00–$25.00 per hour

What you will do

• Lead closing operations for Recovery, Utility, Produce, Meat, Bakery, Deli, Dairy/Freezer, and overnight preparation teams.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when assigned, overseeing club operations, team leadership, and Member engagement.
• Ensure departments are clean, stocked, fresh, operational, and ready for the next morning’s opening.
• Maintain GOLD service standards, resolve Member concerns, and support timely service recovery.
• Monitor inventory, product rotation, merchandising, waste reduction, sanitation, safety, and audit documentation.
• Coach team members, support onboarding and certifications, collaborate with club leadership, and improve underperforming departments.

Requirements

• Two years of retail, supermarket, or warehouse perishable-operations experience preferred.
• Valid ServSafe Food Safety Certification required and must be maintained.
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Experience with inventory turnover and waste reduction strategies.
• Basic proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and email; open shift availability required.
• Must be at least 18 years old and maintain required training and certifications, including annual forklift certification.
